Hello everyone! My name is Will Overland and I am honored to serve as the Alternative Spring Break Intern this year. I am a rising senior studying International Studies and Secondary Education in Social Studies. I grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan but now live in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition to working as a St. Mary Intern I work with the Michigan Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center and Camp Kesem at The University of Michigan. I am passionate about education and the TV show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, if you see me around feel free to say hi!
My name is Cecilia Rivet and I am a rising senior in the School of Public Health. If you want to have a conversation about the Social Determinants of Health or Equality vs Equity, I’m your gal. I am also an RA in Stockwell which is so optimal with most of my classes in SPH! I am the oldest of 8 kids — 7 girls and 1 boy — and have 2 dogs. I am a lover of all things gluten-free, especially desserts. When classes aren’t taking up most of my time, I enjoy baking (I’ve really sharpened my skills during quarantine) and being outside (in the warm months strictly). I am also a pharmacy technician at Walgreens and work in a research lab that studies diabetes!
Hi! My name is Araba Gyan and I am more than excited to be your prayer/liturgy intern. I am a rising senior (yay!!!) in the school of LSA majoring in Sociology with a concentration in Health and Medicine. Besides writing and reading a lot of papers for good grades, I enjoy cooking, hanging with friends, and most importantly spending quality time with myself doing the most important thing in the world–sleeping or eating! Other than that, you can find me in the lab researching Alzheimer’s Disease in the Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience Institute.
Hi everyone! My name is Madelyn Brunvand and I’m excited to be your new CCC president! I’m a rising junior in the Residential College in LSA studying Sociology and Social Work. That was my first time referring to myself as a rising junior and I gotta say, it was a bit terrifying. Anyway, I’m a total musical theatre nerd and I love traveling, hanging out with my family, and spending time outside. I’m also a big euchre fan so if you ever see me in the SMSP lounge doing homework and need a fourth person to play, please ask me as I’d definitely rather play than do homework. Outside of the lounge, you can find me serving as a Young Life leader, doing research at the Conceptual Development Lab, or frequenting one of the many ice cream shops in Ann Arbor.
Hello! My name is Lauren Wojciechowski and I am so excited to serve as the Ig.nite intern for this year! I am a junior studying Mechanical Engineering, with an interest in the design and development of medical devices. On campus, I’m a mentor for freshmen engineering students and a member of the Robotic Exploration of Space Team. When I’m not busy doing school work, I love baking for my friends, finding new coffee shops, and going to thrift stores. I spend a lot of time at St. Mary, so if you see me around be sure to say hi!
Hello, my name is Kyle Allen and I am so blessed to be the Teen Confirmation intern for this year! I am going to be a junior in the school of LSA, studying statistics. I am a huge sport fanatic, love playing cards (especially go fish), and trying different sushi places around A2. In my free time, you can find me going on long walks along the beach, working at Fireside Cafe on North Campus, and not using my time very wisely. I am very excited for this position, and can’t wait to help the community here at St. Mary!
Hi everyone! My name is Emily Ulrich and I am the Family Faith Formation intern. I have been a catechist for the program the past three years, and I am super excited to be an intern for it this year. I am a rising senior in LSA majoring in Biology, Health and Society, as well as minoring in writing. I love spending time with family and friends, writing articles (I am a columnist for The Michigan Daily), running in Nichols Arboretum, playing euchre and I am currently learning how to play the guitar. I look forward to meeting many of you around St. Mary’s Student Parish this fall!
Hi everyone! My name is Kaitlyn Fox and I am the Hispanic/Latino Ministry intern. I’m a rising junior studying Spanish and English. On campus I’m involved with the Michigan Daily where I contribute to the music section, so I am always down to have a conversation about new music, especially if it’s about folk music or anything Lauren Daigle. I also love to spend time outdoors, play tennis, or go for a long run. When it’s too cold out to do those things, you’ll find me curled up with a book or playing in the IM pickleball tournament, another sport I love.
Hello! My name is Rebecca Haines (you can call me Becca) and I am very excited to be the music intern! I am a rising junior in LSA majoring in Microbiology and German. It probably goes without saying that I love music, and I especially love playing piano. I also enjoy hiking with my family, visiting museums and playing cards. When not at St. Mary, you can find me doing research in the MCDB department, playing viola in the campus orchestra, or going to concerts at Hill Auditorium. I look forward to serving the SMSP community!
Hi everyone! My name is Felicia Hinojosa and I am so excited to be your new Retreats Intern! I am a rising senior in the College of Engineering studying Biomedical Engineering. I am a huge fan of learning about new music and tea. I also really enjoy road trips with friends and visiting the National Parks. At St. Mary, you can find me cooking in the kitchen before Ignite or spending time helping out on the latest puzzle by the fire. When I am not at St. Mary, I am probably working with MSTEM or trying one of the many coffee shops in Ann Arbor. I look forward to meeting all of you and planning your upcoming retreats!
