San Salvador, El Salvador

CRISPAZ is a faith-based organization dedicated to building bridges of solidarity between the Church of the poor and marginalized communities of El Salvador and communities in North America through mutual accompaniment, striving together for peace, justice, sustainability, and human liberation. Participants will share in the day-to-day struggle of the Salvadoran people through various “encounters” to learn about their lives, histories, and hopes for their future. They will meet with local community leaders and visit different historical sites and museums in the capital San Salvador to learn more about the civil war and its current effects on the population. Participants will also visit a rural village for a 2-night home-stay. A particular emphasis will be on the struggles of youth and violence leading many young people to flee to the United States to escape. Spanish speaking is helpful, but not required.

CRISPAZ will be our hosts.
