The Flint trip provides participants the opportunity to see how they can make a difference in their own backyard. Starting with a guided tour of the city, participants delve into the complex causes of poverty and spend the week learning about Flint’s situation firsthand while helping at sites around town. Some of these sites include St. Luke’s New Life Center, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Northridge Academy. When the week is over, you’ll have a much different view of Flint than when you first set out. This view, aware of the poverty and the emptiness, also sees hope in the people who work to rekindle the city’s former greatness.
You will be hosted by the Firestone Center and work with the Flint Catholic Community.
