The mission of Small Church Communities (SCC) is to provide time each week where men and women of all ages commit to read, pray and grapple with the Word, reflect on God’s role in our lives and grow in faith and fellowship.

The Daily Examen

The Daily Examen is a prayer of reflection and commitment through which St. Ignatius Loyola endeavored to recognize God in his daily life. Christians in the Jesuit tradition continue this daily practice to develop a growing awareness of God’s grace and to access the Power of the Holy Spirit to change their lives.

The Daily Examen below is led by Dan Dixon and lasts just over 20 minutes. This version is recommended for individual use. You can also download the audio file to play on your phone or iPod.

We also recommend visiting the Pray As You Go website for versions of the Examen that are applicable for groups, children, and young adults, which range from 7 -12 minutes. There is also a mobile app available from Pray As You Go making it easy to play the Examen at the beginning of your SCC.
