"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that you may have life, and have it abundantly. " —John 10:10
Get Involved...
Catholic Student Association (CSA) is the official Catholic Student group recognized by the University of Michigan. Their primary mission is to promote and connect students to all St. Mary’s has to offer.
We hope you will consider St. Mary Student Parish your home away from home. Here you will find many programs to help make you feel more comfortable, to meet new friends, and to strengthen your relationship with God.
The center of our parish life is the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist. The Masses on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. (featuring a 40-student choir and contemporary worship music) and 9 p.m. are especially popular with students. Bring a friend and come catch our spirit! We also have daily mass at 5:10 pm (except Friday when it is at 12:10).
Regardless of your age, major, nationality or gender there are many opportunities for you here. We have student retreats, service opportunities and a vibrant music ministry. We have alternate spring break service trips and Newman Student Gatherings. Students are invited to participate as catechists in our Family Ministry Program and also to participate in our dynamic RCIA Program. Small church communities are organized each semester as a way for you to further deepen your faith with other students in the context of scripture and discussion. Perhaps it is just taking a more active part in Sunday Liturgy as a reader, server, usher, greeter, or Eucharistic Minister.
We are a student parish so we invite you to get involved!
Get Out of the Dorms...
The Newman Center Lounge and Library areas are available as quiet, comfortable places to relax or study. The lounge even has a fireplace and wireless internet access! During study days and finals we offer extended hours and provide lots of homemade snacks to help keep you going.
Whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, we are here to provide balance, comfort, and support as you grow intellectually and in your faith.
Please browse our website and come check us out! We are located 2 blocks from Central Campus, on the corner of Thompson and William St. (across from the Cottage Inn).
