"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. " —Matthew 11:28-30

Spanish Translation Volunteer Needed
With sadness, yet with great gratitude, we inform you that Luz Mesa will no longer be serving as our parish Spanish translator for homilies and other written documents. Luz has been a tremendous help, always available, to provide this needed service. We wish her well as she leaves St Mary’s for a year of service with Teach For America. If you are available this summer, competent in translating from English to Spanish, and willing to volunteer your services would you contact Fr Dan Reim, S.J. at dreim@umich.edu or by phone at 663-0557. Or contact Leonor Kromis at pkromis@umich.edu.

St. Mary's in the News!
This past week, 28 members of St Mary’s parish and friends participated in the national march in Washington, DC for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Students, resident parishioners, including members of our Hispanic/Latino community, joined thousands of others on the front lawn of the Capitol to speak on behalf of justice for immigrants.

Alphonso and Tere Tercero were interviewed by the Spanish language television network Telemundo. Check out the video here.

Fr Dan Reim, S.J. was interviewed by USA Today, in an article that can be found here.

For the US Bishops’ position on this issue see their website: Justiceforimmigrants.org.
