Service Opportunities

HOSPITALITY

If you enjoy welcoming and celebrating with people, providing delicious snacks, assisting with setting up and serving at special events, St. Mary's Hospitality Ministry would love to have your help! St. Mary's hosts many events throughout the year for students and community parish members. These events offer opportunities for hospitality volunteers to give their time and/or provide food and snacks.

Some of the events we need help with include -

• Welcome Week events - Ice Cream Social, Salsa Dance, Labor Day Cookout, and especially Welcome Picnics in September
• English and Hispanic Reconciliation and First Communion and Teen Confirmation receptions
• Education Lecture Receptions
• Receptions after the Easter Vigil and Our Lady of Guadalupe Masses
• Student Study Nights (to provide snacks for students studying for finals)
• Graduation Receptions
• Pre-Marriage Seminar

CARE OF ALTAR LINENS

Volunteers are needed to care for the Altar linens. We schedule volunteers on a rotating basis to wash and iron the linens. If you would like to help please contact Lanette Mele or by calling 734-663-0557 ext. 232.

SEWING BAPTISMAL GARMENTS

If you like to sew we could use your help making the white baptism garments presented to the babies baptized here at St. Mary’s. You don’t need to be a seamstress – the garments are very simple to make. We can supply the pattern and supplies. GROUNDS

Volunteers also are needed to help keep our grounds looking nice! In the spring the grounds need to be cleaned up and flowers planted. The plants and flowers need to be watered throughout the summer and the grounds need to be cleaned up again in the fall. For more information, please or by calling 734-663-0557 ext. 229.
