"That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." —Ephesians 3:17-19

Christian Mediation/Centering Prayer

Centering prayer is a method of prayer - 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening - that is rooted in Christian contemplative tradition. Abbots John Main and Tom Keating of the Benedictine order are the initiators of this form of prayer. While primarily an individual practice, centering prayer can also be done in a group. We welcome visitors who would like to experience this prayer in a group setting. For current meeting information, please see the event section of this Web site. If you have questions about centering prayer at St. Mary's, please contact Diane McCallum or call 734-663-0557, ext. 235.
